Loretta Swit: actor, artist and activist

…and she’s coming to Forestburgh Playhouse

FORESTBURGH, NY—While visiting with Loretta Swit last week, I learned more about her than the average fan has time to absorb. Perhaps best known for her 11-year stint as TV’s Margaret “Hot Lips” Hoolihan on “M*A*S*H,” for which she won two Emmy awards (and six nominations) as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a comedy series, Swit was very busy long before she came to national attention on the multiple-award-winning series.

Holy cow

NARROWSBURG, NY—“Vachement Vache,” an exhibition of paintings by E. Morisot, opens at the Alliance Gallery on Friday, September 4, with an artist’s reception from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The exhibit will be on view through September 26.

“I can see my models, the cows on the green in the fields below, every day from my studio,” says painter E. Morisot. Originally from Paris, France, she now calls the mountains outside North Branch home.
