Medieval hijinks in Bingham Park

HAWLEY, PA — Members of the Canton of Riverouge and Hawley’s Movies in the Park Committee will hold a Medieval Movie Night on Saturday, September 5 in Bingham Park on Main Avenue. The event starts with a Medieval Faire, featuring warriors fighting in armor, games, demonstrations, plays, music, dancing and food. Fairgoers will meet characters from pre-17th Europe and learn about life in the Middle Ages. Visitors are invited to dress in medieval costume, and there will be costume contests for young and old.

At about 8:00 p.m. there will be a screening of a free medieval-themed movie. Bring a blanket or chair to sit on.

Vendors of handcrafted items are sought for the event. For merchants who just wish to sell items, a fee of $10 is required for the 15-by-15-foot space. For those who wish to demonstrate their craft as they sell, the fee will be waived.

To register, write Dee Sabatino, Movies in the Park Committee, Hawley Borough, PO Box 197, Hawley, PA 18428, including your name, address, phone, type of craft or items you sell, what you will demonstrate, or a check for $10 made out to Hawley Movies in the Park Committee.
