Gentlemen (and ladies), be seated

HAWLEY, PA — The Wayne County Arts Alliance (WCAA) will hold its gala art finale of the summer: the auction of the seats created and decorated by local artists for its summer Seat Wave project on Saturday, August 22 at the PPL Environmental Learning Center. The auction doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the bidding begins at 7:00 pm.

Seat Waves is Wayne County Arts Alliance’s sixth annual summer artworks project. For these projects, artists create and/or decorate objects according to a set theme that are displayed at businesses around Honesdale and Wayne County throughout the summer. Past themes have ranged from Wayne Deer to Benchmark to Home Tweet Home. The art auction is WCAA’s major fund-raiser.

Over 50 of these works of art will be available for purchase, in a wide spectrum of styles.

For those who can’t attend, phone bidding and absentee bidding is available. The chairs may be previewed at waynecountyartsalliance.com , or call 570/253-6850 for a map and take your own tour of the benches throughout Wayne County.
