Act Up! Teen Theatre records radio play at CAS

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The Act Up! Teen Theater will present a new musical, “Venus Fly Trap,” at the Catskill Art Society (CAS) Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22.

Directed by Ramona Jan with additional sponsorship by Bethel Woods Center for the Performing Arts, “Venus Fly Trap” is a contemporary radio play (complete with live sound effects) that will be performed in front of an audience. The public is invited to be part of the audience as the troupe records the performance for radio broadcast.

The cast includes Christina Troianello, Zoe Zurad and Cooper Zurad from the Honesdale, PA area; Taylor Murphy, Rebecca Pisall, Leland Peterman, Vickie Peterman, Briana Castro and Samuel Santonovsky from Sullivan West; Cindy Zheng from Livingston Manor; and Kelsey Leland from Ellenville.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m.; seats are on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission costs $10 for CAS members, $12 for non-members. The CAS Arts Center is fully wheel chair accessible.
