From silver tea sets to 10th-century currency, St. James offers an uncommon collection
CALLICOON, NY A white tent on the lawn at 9279 Route 97 in Callicoon, right near the foot of the viaduct, will signal the arrival of St. James Churchs annual auction on Saturday, August 22. Viewing will start at 3:00 p.m., when auction items will be on display for would-be bidders to consider. Auctioneer Darko Hreljanovic will bring down the gavel to begin the auction at 4:00 p.m.
Items available will include a gate-legged table, an antique sewing machine, silver tea sets, a 19th-century babys dress, collectible gnomes, a bookcase, History of Wayne, Pike, and Monroe Counties (original printing), an Egyptian wall hanging, a decorative metal shelving unit, dinnerware, 10th-century paper currency, vintage games, a pigeon-hole desk, antique illustrated German documents, a book case, Mexican pottery bowls, a cat motif foot stool, an antique munitions box, Monet posters, a bound copy of 1852 Harpers Magazine, Elvis memorabilia and much more.
In case of inclement weather, the auction will be held on August 29, same time, same place. Note that the auction will be held at 9279 Route 97, not at the church.
