Flooding comes again
Residents cope

SULLIVAN COUNTY, NYRoads were knocked out, bridges were compromised and the county manager declared a state of emergency. But the flooding was not nearly as devastating as the big one at the end of June 2006.
The neighborhood known as The Island in Jeffersonville was evacuated in the early hours of July 30 when Callicoon Creek jumped its banks. Officials tried to evacuate again on the afternoon of July 31 when the rain picked up again and floodwaters were rising.
But according to resident Miguel Flores, not all of the residents left because they didnt think the situation was that serious.

Take the thing down and start all over again

MONTICELLO, NYJohn Mester has a vision. He wants to provide television programming to the people in Monticello. He wants to offer news and weather programming, shows about health and some entertainment as well. He plans to do this with a low-power television station (LPTV).
About 2,000 LPTV stations exist in the country and they serve small areas, such as neighborhoods in big cities.

HONESDALE, PAOfficials have interviewed the suspect multiple times over the years, but didnt feel they had enough evidence to arrest him until 18 years later.
The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) and the Wayne County District Attorneys Office announced on July 31 the arrest of Jeffrey J. Plishka, age 46, of Onley, VA for the July 27, 1991 murder of Laura Ronning at Tanners Falls in Wayne County.
