Animals, rides, music and thrills—all for one price at the Wayne County Fair

HONESDALE, PA — The Wayne County Fair will return to the fairgrounds north of Honesdale for the 147th year from Friday, August 7 through Saturday, August 15. The fair’s $8 pay-one-price admission covers parking, small stage shows, most grandstand shows and rides.

As always, there will be 4-H livestock exhibits and judging throughout the fair, in the arena. The 4-H livestock sale will occur at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15.

Special events will include old-fashioned standards like the horse-pulling contest on 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, a farm tractor pull at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 9 and harness racing on Tuesday through Thursday. There will also be events like the demolition derby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7 and 14, and KSR Motorsports “Night of Destruction” monster truck show at 7:30 on Saturday, August 15.

Ricky Lee’s American Freedom Country Music Show will be pr esented at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8 in the grandstand, free. Acts on the small stage over the course of the fair will include the Big Tiny Young Show, Hickory Rose Band, Ed & Geraldine and Rosaire’s Racing Pigs.

Pay-one-price does not include food, beverages, midway games, side shows or certain grandstand admissions.

August 7 and August 12 are Senior Citizens Days; those 62 and over pay $3 for admission.
