Bicentennial jazz at Luxton Lake

NARROWSBURG, NY — The Luxton Lake Property Owners Association in Narrowsburg, NY is hosting a fundraising concert event featuring local jazz and bluegrass musicians on Saturday, August 8th from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., rain or shine.

The concert will be held on the historic clubhouse grounds, the home of jazz greats such as Noble Sissle, James Europe and Jimmy Smith. Proceeds will go to the beautification of the clubhouse grounds, as well as community efforts to bring back Luxton Lake and revive the rich music history that was lost when the lake was drained in 1983. The public is invited for a day of music and fun and admission costs $10 per person. Food and drink vendors will be available.

The concert is sponsored in part by the 2009 Sullivan County Bicentennial Celebration.
