Dog Days in Livingston Manor help support SPCA
LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY Willow and Brown, a kitchen and fashion boutique, joins Livingston Manor merchants in welcoming the warmest days of summer with a special Dog Days Weekend on August 8 and 9 to raise funds for the Sullivan County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). Catskill Art Society, Hamish & Henry Booksellers, Hot Corner Sports Collectibles, Madisons Main Street Stand, Morgan Outdoors, Sweet Things, and The Lazy Beagle Pub & Grill are also participating.
On Saturday, August 8, Willow and Brown will host a pet adoption drive featuring shelter dogs from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and a special benefit reception from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with live music, refreshments and pastries from Flour Power Bakery. There is no cost to attend, but all contributions are welcome. The Sullivan County SPCA exists solely on donations, pet adoptions and the support of animal lovers in the community.
Hamish & Henry Booksellers, Hot Corner Sports Collectibles, Morgan Outdoors and Willow and Brown will donate 10 percent of sales from the weekend to the Sullivan County SPCA. Anyone that adopts a pet on Saturday or Sunday will also be entitled to a free book at Hamish & Henry and 50 percent off dog-related items at Morgan Outdoors during Dog Days Weekend. New adoptive dog owners will be able to choose from The Art of Raising a Puppy by the Monks of New Skete; Cesars Way by Cesar Milan; or Animals Make Us Human by Temple Grandin at Hamish & Henry.
In addition, Catskill Art Society will contribute the money raised in the CAS Art Centers donation box for the weekend, and Madisons Main Street Stand will give 50 cents per ice cream sold to the shelter. The Lazy Beagle Pub & Grill is offering a free dessert with the purchase of dinner to anyone that shows a proof of purchase made from a participating merchant during Dog Days Weekend. Two-for-one hot dogs with all the fixins will be available at Sweet Things, and Mountain Bear Crafts will have a soft opening.
