New building brings turmoil to Bethel
Hassidic community claims victory

WHITE LAKE, NYI was misinformed about whether the building should have gone through the planning board, and someone will have to answer for that. Thats what Bethel supervisor Dan Sturm said after a court proceeding regarding the United Talmudical Academy (UTA) on July 24. Sturm also said, I am not happy about the ruling; the safety of the community is at stake.

Late blight in the air
Your tomatoes are at risk

REGIONHundreds of articles can currently be found online about late blight, and many of them explain that late blight is the same plant disease that caused the Irish Potato Famine in the 19th century. No one is suggesting that the current outbreak is going to result in a famine. But it is a real threat to tomato plants this year and, to a lesser extent, potato plants.
