Bethel museum offers ‘60s music workshop for kids

BETHEL, NY — Bethel Woods Center for the Arts and The Janice Center will present “Music is Magic: 4 Weeks of Kids & Music” at The Museum at Bethel Woods starting on Friday, August 7.

This Bethel Woods Performing Arts Workshop will introduce children up to five years old to music, with an emphasis on the sounds and styles of the ‘60s. With a lyrical nod to original Woodstock festival performers Crosby, Stills and Nash, the goal of this unique workshop is to teach your children the joy of music this summer. The weekly, one-hour workshops begin at 10:00 a.m. on August 7 and will run for four weeks in The Museum’s classroom.

Directed by Tanya Cohen of The Janice Center, the one-hour Music Together©-style classes will be offered on August 7, 14, 21 and 28. Music Together© is a nationwide franchise that taps into the innate musical instincts of infants, toddlers, preschoolers and kindergartners and cultivates an early appreciation for the arts. Music Is Magic is an exclusive session featuring songs, beats, rhythms and props expressing a 60s theme. The Janice Center, which is the only licensed Music Together© Center in Sullivan County, will not be offering any other Music Together© programs in August.

The cost is $99 per child ($55 for an additional sibling) and includes a free CD. Register for the class by phone at 845/482-3324, download a registration form at janicecenter.com or visit The Janice Center studio in Jeffersonville or the box office at Bethel Woods. Class size is limited.
