Painting marks Callicoon Center Band’s 75th anniversary

CALLICOON CENTER, NY — Roscoe artist Jack Yelle has donated this watercolor to the Callicoon Center Band to celebrate its 75th anniversary. It captures a typical evening performance in the band shell. The artist and his wife, Patricia, have enjoyed the band for more than a dozen years and felt that the painting would be an appropriate gift.

Yelle said the work was planned several years ago, but since both he and the band are celebrating their 75th birthday this summer, the occasion was perfect.

Limited edition prints of the painting will be available through the band with proceeds to benefit the group. There will be sign-up sheets at the performances, which take place on Wednesday nights during the summer at 8:00 p.m., rain or shine.
