Liberty Fourth of July Parade
LIBERTY, NY The Liberty Chamber of Commerce will hold its 16th annual Fourth of July Parade Festival on Saturday, July 4 at 11:00 a.m. on Main Street, ending at 5:00 p.m. The parade will start at 12:00 noon. There will be music by entertainers, including Gary Nichols, on the Main Street Stage, a street fair, food vendors, arts and crafts, games and activities for the kids and the annual Classic Car Show.
Lumberland parade and fun day
LUMBERLAND, NY There will be a Fourth of July Parade in Lumberland at 12:30 p.m. on July 4, starting at the Lumberland Firehouse and going to the Town Hall in Glen Spey. It will be followed by a Family Fun Day at Circle Park, with food, games and activities. Admission is free. 845/856-8600.
Fireworks at the raceway
MONTICELLO, NY On Saturday, July 4, Monticello will stage its 40th annual fireworks extravaganza after the races. The racing program begins 7:30 p.m., and the fireworks will be presented approximately 15 minutes after the racing program ends. Admission is free. The fireworks extravaganza will be the product of the Garden State Fireworks Company and will be displayed above the infield of the racetrack.
Narrowsburg Fourth of July Parade and fireworks
NARROWSBURG, NY The Narrowsburg Fire Department and the Narrowsburg Chamber of Commerce will celebrate Independence Day on Saturday, July 4, starting with a parade on Main Street at 3:00 p.m. The parade will be followed by music, entertainment, a car show, a chicken barbeque at the firehouse, vendors and more. The day will be topped off by fireworks at dusk.
Reading of the Declaration
PORT JERVIS, NY There will be a reading of the Declaration of Independence on Saturday, July 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Orange Square. The program, called Our Day of Deliverance, is being sponsored by the Minisink Valley Historical Society with assistance from the City of Port Jervis. The program will take place free of charge and be open to the public. In the event of rain or exceptionally hot and humid weather, the program will take place across the street at the Drew United Methodist Church at 49-51 Broome Street.
A program of history and music by the Fife and Drummers of the Broome Street Band will review the events leading up to the Declaration of Independence and what happened in the years that followed. Participants will also have a chance to sign an oath of allegiance and be given a sample of currency of the period. Central Park celebration and fireworks
HONESDALE, PA Independence Day celebrations in Honesdale are slated for Friday, July 3 in Central Park, courtesy of the Wayne County Creative Arts Council (WCCAC) and the Greater Honesdale Partnership (GHP). Beginning at 5:30 p.m. there will be free games including sack races and water balloon tossing, food from a variety of vendors, and music. WCAC musical entertainment will start with the Gypsy Jazz Quintet, followed by the Doug Smiths Dixieland All Stars and the Crystal Band. The evening will be topped off with a fireworks display, sponsored by the GHP, from Irving Cliff.

Free Fourth at Grey Towers
MILFORD, PA The U.S. Forest Service offers a fee-free day at Grey Towers National Historic Site, 122 Old Owego Turnpike, in honor of the Fourth of July. Admission fees will be waived for the day, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as a way to commemorate Independence Day and to bring attention to the national role that Grey Towers and the Pinchot family played in the introduction of natural resource conservation to America.
Forest Service staff will be on hand to offer a unique insight into the conservation contributions made by the Pinchot family and how they utilized the Grey Towers estate as their family home until 1963, when it was donated to the Forest Service. greytowers.org or call 570/296-9630.
Fourth of July festival
MILFORD, PA Milford will hold a Fourth of July celebration from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, starting with an opening ceremony with bagpipes at the library at 11:30 a.m. and running to 5:00 p.m. Costumed characters in front of the Pike County Chamber of will welcome people into town, the Declaration of Independence will be read by the American Readers Theatre, the VFW Honor Guard will present the American Flag and the local Boy Scout Troop will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Entertainment events throughout the town will include Macaroni the Clown at The Artisan Exchange, The Adventures of Christopher Otter and the Milford Performing Arts Dancers at the Old Lumberyard. The Deanery Choir will sing patriotic songs at the library. There will also be a showing of antique cars, the Corvette Club and a motorcycle show throughout the town. 570/296-8700.
