NARROWSBURG, NY — One of the charms of living in a small-town environment is the way that great performances can combine with community solidarity to create events that are as much social events as entertainment. Riverfolk Concerts’ presentation this upcoming weekend promises to be such an event. It is a “Good Folk” benefit concert for the medical/legal fund of Angela Page, an ex-school librarian and current DJ on local public radio who is fighting a battle over a complex medical condition caused by mold at the school library.

The concert will feature a wide variety of artists including Joe Crookston, Peggy Atwood, Lydia Adams Davis, John Guth, Miche Fambro, Callison Stratton and many others. There will even be special kids’ performances, by Lydia Adams Davis, Mike Vreeland, Mike Jung and Stratton, from 3:00 to about 5:00 p.m. The event will be held outside but under cover, so it will occur rain or shine. There will be picnic tables and benches, or attendees are invited to bring a chair.

Page’s life has been turned upside down in the past four years due to a diagnosis of Multiple Chemical Sensitivities. She has lost her job, her ability to travel, and her freedom to go out in public due to the fact that she can’t tolerate the many chemicals, scents and compounds that are used by the vast majority of people on their clothes and bodies. Accordingly, concertgoers are asked not to wear fragrances and scented products or clothes that have been treated with them. For more information on Page’s fight, visit www.wjffradio.org/FolkPlus and click on “My Mold Story” at the bottom of the page.

For those who can’t attend the event, donations may be made to the Angela Page Benefit Fund and sent to Jill Padua, 78 Kirk Road, Narrowsburg, NY 12764.
