A day at the circus
MONTICELLO, NY The Cole Bros. Circus of the Stars will be at Monticello Gaming & Raceway on Thursday, July 2 with shows at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Cole Bros. is the the oldest American circus performing under the Big Top. In this, its 125th year, it combines legendary circus acts of the past with the talents of cirque nouveau artists.
The Toprasta Troupe, from Colombia, recreates the treacherous, three-tier, seven-man pyramid on the high wire; Russias Svetlana Golobolova exhibits grace that belies her strength in a gymnastic routine on aerial silks; and the zany Cole Bros. Clown Crew provides comic relief. There will be elephants and acrobats, camels and jugglers, dogs and ponies, and The Human Cannonball gets fired at every show.
Tickets cost $17 for adults, $12 for children two to twelve. They are available at the box office from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
