RICKY ALAN GRAY

Ricky Alan Gray of Long Eddy, NY, an equipment operator of the Town of Hardenburgh and a lifelong area resident, died Friday, June 12, 2009 at his home. He was 51.

The son of Richard S. Gray and the late Marie James Gray, he was born April 30, 1958 in Roscoe, NY.

Ricky was an avid golfer and a member of the Twin Village Golf Club where he and his partner were Club Champions in 2008. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. A family statement reads: “He had a heart of gold, he was well liked and will be loved and missed by all who knew him.”

Survivors include his companion, Andrea Milucky and her sons, Josh and Janko, at home; his father, Richard S. Gray of Roscoe; two brothers, Ron Gray of Cape Coral, FL and Neal Gray and his wife Jill of Roscoe; one sister, Mellony Steele and her husband Bill of Marshfield, MO; his nieces and nephews Amber, Dannielle, Tommy, Dana, and Jennifer Gray and Jimmy, Jody, Crystal, and Shawn Steele; and his best friend, Jeff Portz and his children Tony and Sydney.

Funeral services were on Tuesday, June 16 at the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave., Roscoe.

JAMES H. HOLMES

James H. Holmes, a longtime area resident, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2009 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus, Middletown, NY. He was 62.

The son of the late Roderick and Gertrude Embreckson Holmes, he was born on August 11, 1946 in Hackensack, NJ.

James was a retired maintenance worker at Crystal Run Village in Monticello, NY.

He is survived by two sons, Joseph Bonilla of New Windsor, NY and Robert Bonilla of Colorado; a daughter, Rena Bonilla of White Lake, NY; two sisters, Dottie Brown of Milo, ME and Janet Haiss of Woodbourne, NY; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Mariotti Holmes; his brother, William Holmes; and a daughter, Veronica Jean Holmes.

Funeral services were private and held at the convenience of the family.


JOSEPH WEIDNER

Joseph Weidner, 86, of Lackawaxen, PA, a longtime resident of the area, passed away on Friday June 12, 2009 in Nanuet, NY. He was 86.

The son of the late Joseph and Minnie Dedrick Weidner, he was born August 31, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY.

Joseph was a retired sheet metal worker for Welbilt in Brooklyn and served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member and usher for St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Shohola, PA. He was a member of Eckert Haupt VFW Post #’5635 and a member of the Lackawaxen Fire Department. A family statement reads: “Joseph was a loving husband, brother, uncle and great uncle. He loved the Delaware and Lackawaxen rivers. He was an avid fisherman. He will greatly be missed by his family and all that knew him.”

Survivors include his wife Caroline Smith Weidner; one sister, Marion Vilchitski of Del Ray, FL; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Joseph is predeceased by two sisters, Hazel Eherl and Rita Palen; and a brother, Edward Weidner.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, June 16 at St. Ann’s R.C. Church. Father Thomas Major officiated.

Christian burial took place in St. Ann’s Parish Cemetery, Shohola.
