MILFORD, PA — In “Terminal Art,” the new ARTery exhibit created by Pat Carullo and featuring collaborative works with sculptor Tom Holmes and master woodworker Larry Braverman, a diversity of local talents working in seemingly unrelated media come together to create some unusual new perspectives on reality and art.

The show will contain nine media art pieces in three convergent forms that Carullo calls “terminalist art.” The pieces are composed of digital video and plastic, wood and canvas sculptural objects.

In a statement describing the work, Carullo wrote, “By all measures our species has entered its terminal phase. So artists need to step up to the urgent task at hand. The polar ice caps melt; fires, floods, storms and droughts worsen; and wars rage on, Even our beloved Delaware River watershed is to be poisoned for private profit.

“But capitalism and its global icon lie in ruins, and media and art as we know them are at an end—so change is now possible. The digital transformation of the world is in full swing, and it will provide the tools we need to recreate our culture. We can do what is necessary to survive. We can pass on a world of beauty and peace to our children. But we need to face hard truths, and to grow and evolve as individuals, artists and communities.”

The ARTery is open Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Thursday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. It is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.
