Towpath to trail cleanup and barbeque

HAWLEY, PA — Volunteers will meet at Lock 31 one mile west of Hawley on Route 6 at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6 to clean up a section of the former Delaware and Hudson Canal.

At 1:00 p.m. there will be a barbeque and potluck lunch and an informal talk about the history of the canal, which has been designated a National Historic Landmark.

The cleanup is part of a Wayne County Historical Society project to create a public greenway along the canal.

Barbeque fare will be provided, and participants are invited to bring potluck. RSVP to wchs@ptd.net by June 3.
