‘Red Riding Hood’ revisited, with a twist

LIBERTY, NY — As part of its ongoing First Hearings Series, The Liberty Free Theatre at 109 South Main Street will present a reading of Joan Schenkar’s “The Universal Wolf” for three performances only, Friday, May 29 and Saturday, May 30 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 31 at 3:00 p.m. Admission is free.

“The Universal Wolf” is a wacky retelling of the Red Riding Hood fable that wonders whether or not we can sympathize with the hilarious and horrifying antics of “Monsieur Wolf.” The cast is Chet Carlin, CC Loveheart, Valerie Mansi, and Kyrce Swenson. The director is Mimi McGurl.

Seating is limited and reservations are recommended. The audience is invited to gather after the performance for food, drink and music.
