Plant swap kicks off Narrowsburg Beautification projects

NARROWSBURG, NY — Heidi Schneider of the Narrowsburg Beautification Group (NBG), a Sullivan Renaissance group, poses with plants on the Main Street deck overlooking the Delaware River’s Big Eddy. Schneider and other volunteers are busy preparing for the group’s upcoming Plant Swap and Bake Sale on Saturday, May 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. next to Roasters. The public is invited to bring labeled plants to swap or baked goods to donate. Proceeds from the bake sale will be used for upcoming town beautification projects.

Volunteers are needed for other planned projects, including painting the bridge located at the intersection of Kirk Road and Bridge Street and sprucing up Veterans Park. The next Narrowsburg gardening day will be on June 6 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the library, following which volunteers will tend the plants at Veterans Park. For more information call 845/252-7400.
