Monticello baseball team honors seniors

MONTICELLO, NY -The Monticello High senior baseball players were honored in a pre-game ceremony on Wednesday, May 20, prior to their OCIAA game against Cornwall. Monticello coach Mike Marra presented seniors Pedro Correa, Anthony Williams, Erik Mayberg, Rion Welsh and Matt Thomas with 11-by-14-inch baseball cards of themselves and their special guests were give a bouquet of flowers.

"I greatly appreciate all of the extra effort the players and their families have given to the program here at Monticello over the past four years," said Marra. "Hopefully, they can take lessons learned on the field into their everyday lives and become better brothers, sons, fathers, husbands and friends because of their experience here at Monticello."

Erik Mayberg will continue his baseball career at St. Lawrence University in the fall.
