PAUL ERNEST DAY
Paul Ernest Day of Equinunk, PA died on Monday, May 18, 2009 at the Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, PA. He was 52.
His wife is the former Diane Marie Eldred.
Paul worked in the construction business as a contractor and was also a former member of the National Guard.
He is survived by daughters Misty Ann Brooking of Equinunk, and Cherie Lynn Shepstone of Damascus, PA; brothers Albert and James, both of Equinunk, and Daniel of Pleasant Mount, PA; sister Hazel Rockefeller of Virginia; and grandchildren Gloria, Jean and Faline Marie Brooking.
He was preceded in death by brothers Randy and William; and sister Stella.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be a reception for family and friends on Thursday, May 21 at 1:30 p.m. at Camp Indianhead in Equinunk.

FRED C. BAER
Fred C. Baer of Callicoon, NY, a dairy farmer and a lifelong area resident, died Saturday, May 16, 2009 at his home. He was 85.
The son of the late Fred H. and Sophia Edith Gerhardt Baer, he was born January 30, 1924 in Callicoon.
He was married to Naida Westcott Baer. A family statement reads, He was an avid sportsman, card player, a devoted grandfather and an all-around special person.
He is survived by his wife at home; daughters Donna Baer Monaco and husband Roger of Oxford, NY and Deanna Baer Deakin and husband Donald of Kathleen, GE; grandchildren Arielle Monaco, Avalon Monaco, Adrianne Monaco-OQuinn, Adam Deakin, and Lance Deakin; and sister Winifred Hodgin of Florida.
He was predeceased by sister Ethel Baer Poley; and brothers Gerhardt Baer and Robert B. Baer.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Callicoon.
A private burial will be made in the Callicoon Cemetery.

JOHN DiMATTINA
John DiMattina of Long Bo Key, FL, formerly of Cochecton, NY, died Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Beneva Lakes Health Care, Sarasota, FL. He was 100.
The son of the late Dominick and Concetta DiMattina, he was born in Brooklyn on November 13, 1908.
John attended Columbia University of Banking in NYC. He was a retired Wall Street stockbroker.
Survivors include his daughter, Faith Quinn and husband John of London, England; and grandchildren Alison Quinn and Brian Quinn, both of Boston, MA.
He is predeceased by his wife, Catherine Gladys Planding DiMattina, who passed away on September 17, 1992. John was the last survivor of 10 children.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial of the cremains will be in Hillside Cemetery, Damascus, PA.
ROBIN J. THOMAS ENRIGHT
Robin J. Thomas Enright of Poughkeepsie, NY, died Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY. She was 46.
She was born May 21, 1962 in Fountain Hill, PA, the daughter of the late William Tex Jackson Enright and Sally Clune Enright.
Robin was a naturalist who loved nature and the outdoors.
Survivors include her boyfriend, Timothy Lee, at home; mother Sally Enright of Port Jervis; children Sarah Hill of Goshen, Rachael Hill of Sparrowbush, Daniel Hill of Sparrowbush, Kathy Lee of Poughkeepsie and Barbara Lee and fiancé Raymond Shaffer Jr. of Ancram, NY; former husband Mike Hill of Sparrowbush; brothers William Enright of Homer, NY, twin brother Robert Enright of Mechanicville, NY, Jerry Enright of Sparrowbush, and Thomas Enright of Port Jervis; sisters Sue Ann Enright of Sparrowbush and Liz Enright of Port Jervis; grandchildren Ryleigh Hill, Caden McGoey and Sarah Jane Shaffer; and aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces.
A funeral service was held on Monday, May 18 at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Port Jervis. Cremation was at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg, PA.

GAIL LUCILLE WEBER OCONNELL
A funeral service will be held for Gail Lucille Weber OConnell, who died on February 19, 2009 in Sumter, SC. She was 72.

CAROLYN J. PAFFENROTH
Carolyn J. Paffenroth of Milford, PA and formerly of Warwick, NY, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at home with her family by her side. She was 65.
The daughter of the late John D. and Violet S. Jennings Chardavoyne, she was born March 18, 1944 in Franklin, NJ.
Mrs. Paffenroth was a retired office manager for Dolomite Construction in Pine Island, NY. She also was a member of Pine Island Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
She is survived by her son, Robert Paffenroth Jr.and wife Liz; her loving dog Lexi; sisters Alice Norman, June Zeek and Marilyn Gorczynski, all of Florida, NY, and Wanda Harvey of New Jersey; brothers John Chardavoyne of Shohola, PA and Henry Chardavoyne of New Jersey; brother-in-law Ronald Paffenroth of Goshen, NY; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 15, 2009, at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, Pine Island, with Pastor Daniel Boyce officiating. Interment was in Warwick Cemetery.

MARY ANN ROHNER
Mrs. Mary Ann Rohner of Port Jervis, NY, went home to the Lord on Friday, May 15, 2009 with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 60.
She was born December 9, 1948 in Port Jervis, the daughter of the late Theodore J. and the late Frances G. Janosko Suchoruki. Mary Ann married James Rohner, Jr. 30 years ago.
A family statement reads: Mary Ann was a very loving and supportive wife and mother. She was proud to have been chosen as grand marshal for the Relay for Life in Port Jervis in 2001. Throughout her battle with cancer, she never complained of pain or discomfort. She was always concerned only with the well being of our family.
Surviving are her husband, James Rohner Jr., at home; sons William Rohner, James Rohner III and Matthew Rohner, all of Port Jervis; sister Suzanne Suchoruki and companion Robert Eilert of Sparrowbush, NY; mother-in-law Marion E. Rohner of Port Jervis; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Teddy J. Suchoruki; and her sister, Dianne Suchoruki.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 18 with a prayer at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Port Jervis, funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Marys R.C. Church, Port Jervis, with The Rev. George Hafemann officiating. Burial was at St. Marys Cemetery, Port Jervis.

BEVERLY J. SWINGLE
Beverly J. Swingle of White Lake, NY, a lifelong Sullivan County resident, passed away on Thursday May 14, 2009 in Columbia, SC. She was 73.
The daughter of the late Albert and Naomi Stewart Dauch, she was born on June 27, 1935 in Monticello, NY. She was the widow of Richard Swingle who died on May 7, 1988.
Beverly was a retired switchboard operator at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY, and the former owner of the Lakeview Diner in Kauneonga Lake, NY.
A family statement reads, We thank you Mom for being a wonderful mother and always being there for us. We are grateful for all the love and wisdom you instilled in us. You are in our hearts forever.
She is survived by son Gary S. Swingle of Aiken, SC; daughters Gail Gorton of Aiken and Susan ODell and husband Kenneth of Columbia, NJ; sisters Marjorie Reddington of Peoria, IL and Carol Porter and husband Clifford of Hurleyville, NY; grandchildren Keith, Timothy, Kevin, Stephen and Eric Milisauskas, Stacey and Sara ODell; one great-grandchild; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by two sons, Richard and Ronald Swingle.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 19 at Ramsays Funeral Home, Kauneonga Lake. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery, Bethel, NY.

LOGAN JASON WINGERT
Logan Jason Wingert, infant son of Alan and Katrina McCarthy Wingert, was born May 8, 2009 and entered into rest on May 9, 2009 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY.
In addition to his parents at home, he is survived by his twin brother, Lucas James Wingert; older siblings Brianna Kathleen, Jordan Alan, Michael Anthony and Tristan Joseph Wingert; maternal grandmother Candy McCarthy of Kenoza Lake; paternal grandparents Alan and Cindy Wingert of Monticello; great-grandparents Helen Schwartz of Virginia, Carol Galietta of Middletown, NY and Elsa and George Weber of Barryville, NY; uncles Jason Wingert, Anthony Wingert and Darrin McCarthy; and aunts, Karen Harris and Lynn Schwartz.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 23, at Calvary Cemetery, Youngsville, NY, with Father Ignatius Vu officiating.
