WCAA holds summer art classes

HONESDALE, PA — The Wayne County Arts Alliance will hold a series of classes led by local artists during the summer at the WCAA Art Studio, 742 Main Street.

A mother-daughter beadmaking class led by Hana Gorman will lead off the series on Saturday, June 6 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Participants will learn to build necklaces and bracelets from the bottom up. In the first half of the workshop, they will make unique individualized beads out of polymer clay. While the beads are firing, they will learn stringing basics, and use them to construct jewelry after they have baked.

Tuition for each mother-daughter pair is $45 for WCAA members or $60 for non-members.

Other classes will include “Painting with Scissors—the Art of Collage,” starting on June 22, and “Crazy Critters—the Art of Sculpture,” starting on June 29, both led by Gorman; “Make an Impression—the Art of Printmaking,” with instructor Lindsay Barrett George, starting on July 6; and “Making Lines Dance—the Art of Drawing,” with instructor Jason Smith, starting on July 13
