CineArt presents Downey tour-de-force ‘The Soloist’

CALLICOON, NY — The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance and the Callicoon Theater will present “The Soloist” on Friday, May 15 through Wednesday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m., plus matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. The film, based on a true story, features featuring acclaimed performances by Robert Downey, Jr. as a Los Angeles journalist who befriends a Julliard trained musician who lives on the streets following a schizophrenic breakdown, and Jamie Foxx as the musician. Based on a true story, the film is directed by Joe Wright (“Atonement”).

Rex Reed of the New York Observer wrote, “The Soloist is a moving, inspirational story told in a straightforward style, refreshingly devoid of sentimentality.”

A percentage of the profits and $1 per person from ticket sales benefit the programs and services of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, the Arts Council for Sullivan County.
