Dinner guests sit on the jury in ‘Contempt of Court’

WOODBOURNE, NY — The Woodbourne Action Committee will hold its fourth annual Renaissance fundraiser, Big Sky Productions’ “Contempt of Court,” on Saturday, May 9 at the Woodbourne Firehouse on Route 52. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and court adjourns at 6:30 p.m. The jury (a.k.a. the audience) is invited to BYOB.

“Contempt of Court” is an audience participation dinner-theatre courtroom satire written by David Landau. While dining, the audience will play several parts, as the judge (Carol Bliefernich of Highland Lake) and bailiff (Bob Bliefernich of Highland Lake) dispense justice, while attorneys Sydney Schyster (Mike Valentine of Livingston Manor) and Melissa Cheatham (Constance Lawrence of Loch Sheldrake) argue their cases. Peter Lawrence of Loch Sheldrake plays the witness.

Tickets cost $25 and include a four-course dinner and the show. Special rates are available for groups of eight or more. Reservations are recommended. For more information call 845/434-3147 or 434-4297.
