Artery welcomes new faces

MILFORD, PA — The Artery, Milford’s artist-owned and operated cooperative gallery, will welcome its three newest members for a special showcase starting on May 7. The show, “New Faces”, will feature the work of Debbie Gioello, Greg Hicho and Janet Rutkowski.

Recognized by her realistic oversized butterfly paintings and fine line etchings, Debbie Gioello will unveil her series “Black on White.” a collection of polymer paintings on paper inspired by figurative settings. Hicho brings a sense of humor and nostalgia to his finely detailed watercolor series “Halcyon Days,” which are influenced by old photos and negatives acquired from flea markets and online sources. Rutkowski will introduce her newest series of metal sculpture titled “The Rift,” inspired by the Golden Compass books by Phillip Pullman.

The exhibition will run from May 7 through June 8. There will be an artists’ reception on Saturday, May 9 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Artery is located in Forest Hall at the corner of Broad and Harford Streets. Regular gallery hours are Thursday to Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
