Ramp festival helps kick off Callicoon market

CALLICOON AND NARROWSBURG, NY — The Upper Delaware River Valley Ramp Festival will help to ring in the new season at the Callicoon Farmers’ Market on Sunday, May 3, where the Upper Delaware Valley chapter of Slow Food, Slow Food UpDeRiVa, will have a tent from 11:00 to 2:00 p.m. A ramp tramp, led by local herbalist Nathaniel Whitmore, will depart from the farmers’ market at 2:00 p.m.

Other locations will also participate in the festival. On Saturday there will be a taste workshop with chef Peter Schott at Restaurant 15 Main in Narrowsburg, and menus at local restaurants will include ramps all weekend.
