DVAA kicks off season with unique American music

NARROWSBURG, NY - The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance will kick off its spring season on Saturday, May 2 at 8:00 p.m. with an evening of unique American music with Robin and Linda Williams.

For more than a quarter of a century, the Virginia-based duo, known for their rich harmonies and original songwriting, have delighted audiences large and small with a blend of bluegrass, folk, old-time, and acoustic country that truly merits the title of “American music.” “Visions of Love,” their CD produced by Garrison Keillor, stayed on the Americana Charts soon after its release January 2002 and was rated in the top five of both the Folk and Bluegrass charts on Roots Music Report.

Robin and Linda Williams have gained recognition from a variety of sources, including their appearances on Garrison Keillor’s beloved radio program “A Prairie Home Companion” and the Robert Altman film of the same name. They have also appeared on The Grand Ole Opry, “Austin City Limits,” American “Mountain Stage,” and “Music City Tonight.” They have performed in venues ranging from Philadelphia and Kerrville Folk Festivals, to bluegrass-oriented festivals to arts centers and concert halls across the US, Canada, and Europe.

Tickets for Robin and Linda Williams are $20. DVAA members receive a $2 discount on advanced sales. For tickets and more information, call 845/252-7272.

The spring season at Tusten continues Saturday, May 9 at 8 p.m., with the exciting new acoustic instrumental sounds of Acoustic Eidolon; jazz pianist Kazzrie Jaxen and saxophonist Bob Keller on Saturday, May 30; the country Cajun band The Doc Marshalls on Saturday, June 6 at 8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, June 13 and 14, the DIGIT media festival; and Saturday, June 20, Margolis Brown Adaptors Company.
