They’re havin’ a ‘Seat Wave’

WAYNE COUNTY, PA — “Seat Waves” will be Wayne County Arts Alliance’s (WCAA) sixth annual summer artworks project. Each spring, a new theme and project is chosen and artists from all over Wayne County participate. A theme template like “Wayne Deer” or “Benchmarks” is chosen for local artists to decorate, and local businesses display the results, creating a main street museum. If you are interested in participating, call 570/253-6850 by Friday, May 1.

The public will have a chance to preview these hot summer seats during the Honesdale Arts, Crafts, and Antique Weekend. Artists’ creations will be on view for the public on Sunday, May 31 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Central Park, before each of the chairs goes to its community sponsor’s location throughout Wayne County. At the end of summer, WCAA will host a benefit art auction on August 22, where the chairs will be auctioned off to help support its community art programs. The art auction is Wayne County Art Alliance’s major fundraiser.
