MONTICELLO, NY—Much is being written these days about the need for sustainability.

With this gathering awareness about our lifestyle, people are beginning to turn back toward that which is more enduring and basic.

Renewable energy is central and, given the resolve and the resiliency of our nation, it is likely that we will find such in building a more sustainable future.

And we needn’t look further than our national pastime. The love of baseball is rekindled each spring as it stirs the passion of players and fans, just as it did in years past. We celebrate the memories of bygone greats, and revel in the exuberance of promising youth in a game that remains forever young.

GRAHAMSVILLE, NY—“Youth comes but once in a lifetime,” wrote the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, one of countless adults who looked back wistfully to their younger days.

Youth in all of its glory was on hand as the Sullivan West Lady Bulldogs bested the Tri-Valley Lady Bears 11-4 in a non-league game on April 17.

LIBERTY, NY—Bright sunshine and balmy temperatures were a welcome relief as track and field athletes began to work out the kinks in a pair of early spring meets in Sullivan County. In Liberty, the Indians hosted Tri-Valley and a partial James I. O’Neill boys team. The Raiders were on spring break, so only a few were on hand for this Division IV fray.
