DVAA presents animated features
NARROWSBURG, NY The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, with sponsorship support from Rosanne and David Isom, will present a three-part series of films focusing on animation in the theatrical feature film from April 23 through 25 at the Delaware Arts Center, 37 Main Street. Organized by Jan and Jack Hirschfeld, the films break through the clichés of the typical made-for-children animated feature and bring a new perspective to drawing and painting for the screen. The films will be introduced by Jack Hirschfeld, who will facilitate an audience discussion following each film.
On Thursday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m. Persepolis (2007, Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud) will be screened. It is a film version of Marjane Satrapis graphic depiction of her growing up in Tehran and Vienna. American Pop (1981, Ralph Bakshi), a history of the U.S. in the 20th century as told through the lives of four generations and the popular music of their times, will be shown on Friday, April 24. Chicago 10 (2007, Brett Morgen), dealing with the anti-war protests in Chicago during the Democratic Party Convention in 1968, will be shown on Saturday, April 25.
All screenings will be at 7:30 p.m. in the Krause Recital Hall.
