Taking tea at St. James
CALLICOON, NYMiss Burnhams Tea Room will return to St. James Episcopal Church in Callicoon on Saturday, April 25 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. The event recreates an authentic cream tea, just like those you might find at many a church in England.
In addition to a wide selection of teas, there will be scones with cream or home made marmalade, finger sandwiches, sugar plums, dainty cookies and more. The tea, in delicate china tea cups, will be under the careful watch of St. James resident anglophile, Nellie Burnham.
If you wish to look the part of a proper English lady, you may want to borrow one of the fancy hats that will be on hand to wear, while you sip and munch. Red Hat ladies are encouraged to come in full millinery finery.
