Sullivan West senior starter Brad Reimer was dominant in his first outing. He struck out 11 and yielded just one run over six innings. Reimer will be officially signing his letter of intent to play for Division I Long Island University this week. Reimer helped out with his bat as well, hitting a two-run triple, which was part of a 14-hit assault against Spartan pitchers.

Sullivan West looks dominant in opening win over S.S. Seward
By RICHARD A. ROSS
JEFFERSONVILLE, NYA series of weather-related cancellations forestalled the start of their baseball season but when the sun finally shone through on April 9, the Sullivan West Bulldogs broke free of their leash and ran wild.
Once the Westies took to the field against S.S. Seward, their pent-up urgency erupted with a fearsome combination of powerful pitching, timely hitting and effective fielding, highlighted by a nifty 1-6-2 double play en route to an 18-3 thrashing of the visiting Spartans.
Senior starter Brad Reimer was dominant, especially early on, striking out nine batters through the first four innings.

Monties vanquished by Vikings
By RICHARD A. ROSS
MONTICELLO, NY - Taking your lumps is part and parcel of rebuilding a program and Monticello coach Mike Marra fully understands that reality. That said, having to play Class AA behemoths like Valley Central is a bit over the top.
The Vikings are a fearsome lot. Like their namesakes who raided Northern European countries from the eighth to the 11th centuries, wreaking havoc and vanquishing any resistance, Valley Central is a major baseball powerhouse, while Monticello is youthful, exuberant and still very green.
Marra isnt complaining.
Far from it.
