A ‘consummate folk artist’ at Riverfolk

NARROWSBURG, NY — The next Riverfolk concert, scheduled for Friday, April 17 at 7:00 p.m., will feature Jay Mankita at the Tusten Town Hall. The Whole Earth Review described Mankita as “a consummate folk artist who performs in a whimsical, versatile style for both children and adults; a good portion of his work is environmentally, or peace-and-justice based.” Pete Seeger said, “Come hear this guy; I think he’s one of the half dozen best songwriters today.”

Mankita (see jaymankita.com ) has shared the stage, opened for, performed with and recorded with many artists, including Seeger, David Bromberg, Leon Russell, Tom Paxton, Ronnie Gilbert and Paul Winter.

There will be tastings courtesy of Calkins Creamery and Beach Lake Bread, and dinner items will be available for purchase from Jill’s Kitchen.

A portion of the proceeds from all shows to benefit WJFF Public Radio and the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance. Reservations are recommended. BYOB. For more information call 845/252-3043.
