Laurel Villa hosts A Toast to Jeanie fundraiser
MILFORD, PA The Laurel Villa will hold a fundraising event celebrating the life and spirit of Jean Work from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 29 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Jean Work is well known locally through her framing business, Works Frame Shop, as well as her work at Century 21 Roy B. Hull Realtors, Milford Therapeutic Massage and also her many charitable endeavors.
Jeanie has been fighting cancer for three years, said Halsted. She and her partner Nancy are in desperate need of financial assistance to pay for hospitalizations, treatments and other expenses now that Jeanie is in home hospice care. She has given so much to so many for so long that we hope all those in the community, and especially those whose lives she has touched, can respond generously. Among Jeans many charitable activities has been GAIT, a therapeutic horseback riding center in Milford serving children, teens and adults with special needs.
All proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to Work.
Tickets to A Toast to Jeanie, at $25, will be available at the door. Those who cannot attend but would like to make a contribution can make out a check to The Jean Work Health Fund and drop it off at the Laurel Villa on Friday or Saturday after 5:00 p.m., or mail it to P.O. Box 517, Millrift, PA 18340. For more information call 570296-9940.
