A whiz of a Wiz it was
ELDRED, NYWhen it comes to spring, the plays the thing in many of the Sullivan County school districts, especially in March, Music in Our Schools Month. This past weekend, rapt audiences at Eldred were transported over the rainbow, as the schools drama club delivered a visually entrancing version of L. Frank Baums The Wizard of Oz, directed by Joshua Poston.
At left, Dorothy (Karlie Contrera) explains to Good Witch Glinda (Ahsley Horton) how her house got swept up into a tornado. Below, Amadur Laput as the Scarecrow, right, sings If I Only Had a brain, accompanied by Dorothy, who has suggested that they go together to visit the Wizard of Oz.
