Maple weekends at Frost Valley

CLARYVILLE, NY — The Frost Valley YMCA has two open-house weekends planned at the Sugar Shack on March 21 and 22 and March 28 and 29. This free events run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on each day, with tours every half hour and activities throughout the day. Guided seasonal activities will also be plentiful for overnight guests.

The weekends allow visitors to experience all the elements of sugaring including mid-winter hike, brisk mountain air, swelling buds and tapping trees. Frost Valley demonstrates both traditional and state-of-the-art collection of sweet sap and fuels the process with firewood harvested with sustainable forest management practices.
