Celebrate Lincoln with a creative plate
MILFORD, PA In honor of President Lincolns Bicentenary year, the Pike County Historical Society will hold a plate-decorating contest. The society will offer a blank canvas, in the form of a plate, on which participants can let their creative juices flow. Plates can be picked up at The Columns Museum, located at 608 Broad Street, for a donation of $10. The plates creators will be invited to a reception in May, where the plates will be judged and auctioned off to benefit the museum. The judges will be a panel of distinguished local artists, with prizes awarded in several categories.
Plates will be available starting March 25. The museum is open Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. There is no limit on entries. The plates will be exhibited at the museum from May 13 through 23, with the judging and reception to commence at the close of the museum on the 23rd.
