Cinderella at SW set to delight

Fabulous costumes, sets and fine performances will surely transfix the audience

By RICHARD A. ROSS

LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY — Stunning to say the least: that’s a preview assessment of “Cinderella,” which will grace the stage at Sullivan West on March 13 and 14 at 7:00 p.m. and on March 15 at 2:00 p.m. The Sullivan West production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein show is directed by Bill Moloney. Admission costs $7, $5 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Hannah Rettoun stars as Cinderella with Chris Murphy as Prince Charming. Cinderella’s mean-spirited stepmother, played by Catherine Peters, and her self-absorbed daughters, played by Grace O’Connor and Katherine Bunch, are great foils to Rettoun’s good-natured character. Expect great supporting performances from Brendan Creegan and Margaret Breutsch as the King and Queen, along with a delightful Fairy Godmother in Jennifer Leon.

Jamie Ward is the show’s vocal director. She assists Meaghan Mullally-Gore with the choreography. Ross Reynolds leads the pit orchestra and Patricia Ellmauer is the producer. Costumes were designed and constructed by Meg Bryan. Lights are by Ken Crumley, hair by Lynn Tegnener, sets by Gregg Bryan and set artwork by Rob Kautz.
