A garlic-lover’s evening

MILFORD, PA — The Hotel Fauchere will celebrate the humble garlic bulb in a dinner on Friday, March 20, with guest organic farmer and author Keith Stewart in attendance to read from his book and provide the organic garlic for the meal.

Stewart has an organic farm in New York and a produce stand at Union Square Market, and has written the book, “It’s a Long Road to a Tomato, Tales of an Organic Farmer Who Quit the Big City for the (Not So) Simple Life.” Of his garlic, The New York Times wrote, “Keith’s Farm grows garlic from another planet... Big, fat cloves of rocambole variety with skins that slip off easily with flavor that’s mellow and assertive at the same time,” and Time Out New York described it as “the most soulful garlic on earth.” The planned menu will use the garlic in a variety of inventive ways.

The reading and a reception will start at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00 pm.

The cost of the reading, reception and dinner is $49 per person, reservations required. For more information call 570/409-1212.
