Nurture your creativity

HONESDALE, PA — The Wayne County Arts Alliance (WCAA) recently received a grant from the Villaume Foundation which, along with a newly established arts education committee and renovations at the alliance’s 742 Main Street location, now allow the WCAA to offer art classes.

The WCAA believes that all children are natural artists, needing only attentive artist teachers and a space that can nurture their creativity. In the Children’s Studio Classes, students are encouraged to explore the possibilities of creating all kinds of art with all kinds of materials. The aim is to provide students with a variety of artistic experiences. This class meets Tuesday or Thursday afternoons from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.

For adults, WCAA currently offers a “You Can Paint” class on Wednesday mornings. “Elements of Landscape” begins Monday, March 9 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Artist Roger Hill will teach, and all experience levels are welcome in this four-week watercolor class. The class will explore the elements of landscape painting in watercolor using a bamboo brush and tube watercolor paints.

Class sizes are limited. For information about registration and other upcoming classes, contact Hana Gorman at hanaspuppets@hotmail.com or contact the WCAA office at wcaa@waynecountyartsalliance.org or 570/253-6850.
