Puppets perform “Aesop’s Fables”

HONESDALE, PA — Puppeteer Steve Abrams will give a performance of “Aesop’s Fables” at the Wayne County Public Library on Thursday, March 5 at 6:00 p.m. The show is part of the Outreach Lecture Program, funded by the Commonwealth of PA and sponsored by the University of PA Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.

Abrams, a professional puppeteer for over 20 years, has given more than 3,000 performances all over the United States. A family hobby started him in the direction of puppet shows for hundreds of children’s birthdays. In addition, Abrams has a BA in Communication and an MA in Dance Education from Temple University. He is a member of Puppeteers of America and has appeared as a guest artist with the Elm Seed Puppet Theater at the Rhode Island School of Design. He executed special commissions for the Sun Oil Company and the Jenkintown Music School.

In addition to his puppet shows, Mr. Abrams has created several slide programs on folk customs and ritual as applied to the performing arts.
