Cultural grants available

REGION — The Sullivan County Arts & Heritage Grants Program (SCAHAG) is accepting applications for 2009 funding. The grants, administered by Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA), assist nonprofit organizations to present or produce cultural programming in Sullivan County.

Sullivan County nonprofit arts groups are eligible, such as literary groups, choral groups, historical societies, orchestras and libraries. SCAHG funds quality arts programs, projects or services that focus on visual, performing, literary, media or folk arts; local or ethnic culture; architecture or environmental arts.

DVAA encourages first time applicants to attend a seminar on how to develop proposals. Seminars will be held on Saturday, February 28 at 11:00 a.m. at the Delaware Arts Center on Main Street in Narrowsburg, NY and on Wednesday, March 4 at 6:00 p.m. at the Government Center in Monticello, NY.
