Keeping an eye on eagles

HAWLEY, PA — More than 20 teachers from New York and Pennsylvania observe eagles at a recent educator workshop held at the PPL Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center. The teachers, who work in local schools, learned about eagle biology, habitat needs, data collection and more.

“We really enjoy providing information that will help get kids jazzed about the environment where they live,” said Lori McKean, founder and director of the Eagle Institute.

All Eagle Institute programs are designed to protect the bald eagle and its habitat and to educate eagle watchers about the “safest and least intrusive” way to view bald eagles. For more information visit eagleinstitute.org or call 570/685-5960.
