Library sponsors garden show trip

MILFORD, PA — The Friends of the Pike County Public Library will sponsor a bus trip to the Philadelphia Flower Show 2009, whose theme this year will be “Bella Italia,” on Wednesday, March 4. The bus will depart from the Grand Union parking lot on West Harford Street in Milford at 8:00 a.m., arriving at the Convention Center in Philadelphia at approximately 11:00 a.m.

A snack will be served en route, and the entry tickets to the Flower Show may be purchased at the door. Lunch is on your own within the Convention Center, or you may choose to visit the Reading Market across the street (famous for its ethnic food stalls) or walk to Chinatown one block away. A garden tea lunch is being offered at the Convention Center for $28 per person.

The cost is $35, which includes snack, transportation and driver’s tip only. There will be no dinner stop on the way home. The bus will depart from Philadelphia at 4:30 p.m. Admission to the show costs $24. If you wish to order advance tickets, they cost $22. Visit flowershow.com or call 215/988-8879.
