Mardi Gras on Main

HONESDALE, PA — There will be a lot of activity on the sidewalks of downtown Honesdale on February 21 as the community and businesses join together to celebrate Mardi Gras on Main.

Over 50 groups of people (or krewes, as they are known at the mother of all Mardi Gras in New Orleans), ranging from business owners to non-profit organizations and school groups, will parade the sidewalks of historic Honesdale between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., creating a continuous spectacle. The stream of mini-floats will use everything from baby carriages andhospital beds to wagons and wheelbarrows. Many krewes will be passing out colorful Mardi Gras beads, some with valuable store coupons attached, to passersby, and many local businesses will be passing out the savings in-store as well.
