ROCK HILL, NY The second annual YMCA/Rock Hill Fire Department Ski Race will be held on Friday, February 27 and Saturday, February 28 at the Holiday Mountain Ski and Fun Park. Fees for firefighter and business teams are $200 for pre-registration, $250 after Friday, February 13. The fee for youth teams (ages nine through 15) is $125. Snowboarders are welcome to enter the race.
Festivities will start on Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a wine and cheese reception for all prepaid teams and their families. At 9:00 p.m. there will be a torch parade and fireworks, open to the public.
On Saturday, from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, there will be a French toast breakfast buffet, hosted by the Rock Hill Fire Department at the Rock Hill Firehouse. From 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon there will be registration in the cafeteria of the Holiday Mountain Ski and Fun Park. The race begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by dinner and an awards ceremony from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Activities will be available to children throughout the day. Both days lift tickets will be discounted to $25 and ski rentals, if needed, will be reduced to $20.
Team entry will include admission to the wine and cheese party, race entries, tickets to the steak dinner/awards celebration and lift tickets for all five team members. If your pre-paid registration is received by February 13, you will also get five French toast breakfast tickets.
Banner sponsorships are available for $100. Sponsors must supply a three-by-six-foot banner on the race course for race day. Benefits include two invitations to the wine and cheese reception, two French toast breakfast tickets and two tickets to the steak dinner and awards ceremony.
