Christine Lavin featured at Riverfolk for Valentine’s Day

MILANVILLE, PA — For Valentines Day, the Riverfolk concert series at Calkins Creek Vineyard will present singer-songwriter-entertainer Christine Lavin at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m.

Lavin threads her pop/folk songs into the plot of a smart and witty theatre-concert. Billboard wrote, “Lavin is as captivating an artist in solo performance as there is today.” “People find their life in her songs,” wrote the Boston Globe, and the Washington Post said, “Lavin keeps her audience thinking, laughing and guessing at the same time.”

Lavin invites visitors to bring their knitting with them and come a little early for a knitting circle before the show. Audience members will also have the opportunity to sample Lavin’s Barackolate Cookies, which she describes as “Finally! A cookie that represents all Americans: Democrats, Republicans, Independents—light ones, dark ones, beige ones, and of course, nuts.” There will be light refreshments courtesy of Jill’s Kitchen, Calkins Creamery and Beach Lake Bread.

Tickets cost $15. A part of the proceeds from all Riverfolk shows benefits WJFF Public Radio and the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance.

The sponsors request that guests make these evenings fragrance-free events for those who suffer with asthma and chemical sensitivities illness.
