Indie films and a celebration of collecting

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The Outsider’s Studio will present Indie Cinema Night, a festival of short independent films, and The Collections Exhibit, an exhibit celebrating the art of collecting, on Saturday, January 31. The exhibit will open at 5:30 p.m., with the film showings starting at 6:00 p.m.

Represented in the exhibit will be Miriam Hernandez, David and Joni Sandlin, Andrea Brown, Sue Barnett, Tate Billings, Charlie Sanborn, Richard Seehausen, Joni Wehrli, Lara Troisi, Jonathan Hyman, Judy Depalma, Challey Comer, David Walton, Barbara Winfield, Jeffrey Lackey and Antoine Magliano

Films shown will include “Abducted,” a film by James Karpowicz that explores the human condition as viewed from the eyes of an alien abductor; “Licorice, in which filmmaker Fred Feldman gives his perspective on an environmentally conscious cat; “Cocktails with Brookie,” Frank Mullaney, Aileen and Tim McCormack’s stop-action animation using celebrity dolls, and “Rest In Peace,” a film by Rachel Amodeo telling the story of two sisters, Mabel (Rachel Amodeo) and Batavia Dibble (Dame Darcy). After Batavia violates her sister’s coffin, Mabel haunts her sister thereafter by following her in ghost form.
