Sculpting starts for Crystal Cabin Fever
LAKEVILLE, PA Employees of Sculpted Ice Works have begun work on the giant 40-foot ice slides that will be featured at Crystal Cabin Fever beginning February 13. The slide is a favorite for children. Shown here clockwise are Mark Crouthamel, owner, John Hedbavny, Sam Foster and Peter Fazio, working to fuse ice for the base of the first slide.
This year, Crystal Cabin Fever will be presenting Alaska-themed sculptures for the event. While popular elements such as the slide and cabin are recreated each year, new designs such as an ice caribou and ice dog sled team are planned within the theme.
